What is a full Level 2 qualification?
- 5 GCSEs at Grades A* -C
- BTEC First Diploma or OCR National Certificate Level 2
- Level 2 NVQ
- Intermediate GNVQ
- RSA Diploma
What is a full Level 3 qualification?
- 2 or more advanced level passes
- 4 or more AS levels
- NVQ Level 3 and GNVQ advanced
- City & Guilds advanced
What is the Adult Learning Grant & who is eligible?
The ALG is a means tested allowance of up to £30 per week and is available to full time learners, studying at least 12 hours a week for their first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 qualification. Learners need to be 19 years or over.
The above applies to FE funded programmes only. You may need to pay for course materials and any other course contributions. Please note fully costed courses are not eligible for reduced fees.
Childcare Support
If you are aged 16-19 you can apply for Care to Learn Support. Providing your child is with a registered childminder or nursery. As long as you begin your course before you are 20 Care to Learn will contribute towards childare costs until the course has finished.
